Sat Oct 18 18:04:13 2003 Clipboard problems localized
So now, of course, cut-and-paste between Windows and emacs seems to be working fine. I selected some text in emacs, via click-and-drag, and pasted it into a Notepad file with Ctl-V. Then I selected a few words the same way and pasted it into the address line of a Firebird window. And then I selected some text out of Notepad, with Ctl-C, and pasted it into an emacs buffer.

Sat Oct 18 18:09:47 2003: Or more precisely it was working. I think it worked so long as the emacs kill ring was empty. As soon as I put something in the Emacs kill ring, I could not paste from the windows clipboard to emacs.

It seems like I can occasionally get stuff from the emacs kill ring to Notepad, but I am not sure how this happens.

Right now, it looks like when I kill things with C-k, it goes into the clipboard, but selecting by click-and-drag or M-w doesn't seem to work.

I can cut and paste between notepad and xterm as advertised, and between emacs and xterm just fine (I think).

Configuration: X server is C:\cygwin\usr\X11R6\bin\XWin.exe -multiwindow -clipboard and running SSH Secure Shell Client.

Don't you just love a mystery?
