How Grading works

Syllabus

Successful completion of the Co-op Prep course is mandatory for participation in the CCIS co-op program. Therefore:

  • All students are expected to attend all classes, attend the entire class, and to turn in assignments on time.
  • Assignments are due at the start of class.
  • Students will not be admitted to class late. The Prep course is designed to prepare students for the working world. In the working world, being late for work is generally frowned upon, if not punished. Consider this practice.
  • The maximum points possible on a late assignment will be 1/2 of possible total. That's if we're willing to accept the assignment at all.
  • Grading on group assignments will be based on an average of the work of all members of the group. In the working world, teams are judged on the overall result/product, not each individual's contribution. Again, consider this practice.
  • If students miss those class meetings which address critical co-op preparation topics (i.e., Managing the Co-op Process, Resume Writing, Interviewing), they are still responsible for knowing the material. Students who do not meet the CCIS Co-op Program's minimum standard for preparation will not be permitted to go on co-op.
