Recitation Instructions

Our purpose here is to digest and polish your understanding the math covered in lessons. This is your chance to work in small groups and drill down on little details which may not have been clear from class.

Know that there will be many moments your classmates are wonderfully helpful to you (don’t be shy about asking for their help!). There will also be many moments where you are wonderfully helpful to your classmates (thank you for being so generous and patient with each other!). Of course we’ll have TAs and an instructor on hand as well if your recitation group gets stuck but please do make some friends with this hour :)

Recitation Quiz

The recitation instructor will stop everyone to provide the last 15 minutes to work on a low-stakes gradescope quiz covering the same material.

  • any correct quiz question submission will have a little “correct!” rectangle placed under your answer

  • the quiz may be re-taken as many times as desired until Monday of the following week at 9:00 PM.

  • each student’s lowest quiz grade will be discarded when computing their final grade.

If you’re done early…

You’re welcome to work on homework:

  • be mindful that course staff cannot confirm correct answers on HW

  • be mindful that you include any student’s name in your HW group (see HW instructions).

Know that the materials are written to be completed in a particular order, recitation materials being a bit more straightforward than HW. Be sure to make an earnest effort on recitation materials before continuing on to HW, I think you’ll find it a helpful warm up!
