Upcoming meetings -- Calls for Papers (CFP)

NEW -- 1/20/2002: The Special Interest Group on Natural Language Processing (NLP-SIG) of the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) has issued a call for papers for an ACL-02 (http://www.acl02.org) Workshop Natural Language Processing in the Biomedical Domain July 11 - 12 University of Pennsylvania Philadelphia, PA. Submission deadline is March 15, 2002. Full text of the call for papers is here.


Organizations

The premiere organization in the field of NLP is the The Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL). They organize many conferences and workshops every year and are a source for the proceedings of a large number of meetings. Membership in the ACL is a must for anyone wanting to do serious work in NLP, in any domain.

Meetings

The ACL CS/NLP site has links to hundreds of conferences, e.g., 55 links for the year 2000, and a number for 2001, with more being added all the time.

The major NLP meeting in 2001 is ACL 2001 which was held in Toulouse, France, July 6-11, jointly with the European ACL (EACL).


Proceedings

EMNLP 2001 -- The website for the 2001 SIGDAT Conference on Empirical Methods in Natural Language Processing (EMNLP 2001) now contains online proceedings, slides from some of the panel presenters, BibTeX information, and author and program committee member links. CoNLL-2001 -- The proceedings of the Fifth Workshop on Computational Natural Language Learning (CoNLL-2001) which was held in Toulouse, France 7/2001, are available online now at:

The website contains postscript and pdf versions of the papers with separate abstracts and bibtex entries. It also contains online versions of earlier CoNLL workshops (1997-2000). (posted 7/31/01)
