Undergraduate
Overview
Founded in 1982, Northeastern University's College of Computer Science (CCS) was the first college in America devoted exclusively to Computer Science. After the introduction of the Information Science degree program in 2002, our name was changed to the College of Computer and Information Science (CCIS). We continue our tradition of leadership by building strength in key areas of Computer and Information Science: programming languages, software engineering, algorithms, network security, distributed computing, database management, information retrieval, artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, and computer science education.
As a college we can offer undergraduate students rich resources: a dynamic faculty, a challenging curriculum including many dual major options, wide ranging research and systems opportunities, state of the art technology support, a new facility designed to promote faculty-student interaction, participation in student groups that have won national recognition, and the special benefits of cooperative education in the high technology industries.
