Northeastern's human-computer interaction (HCI) group examines new ways of working with computers. From interactive agents and sensor-enabled mobile technoogies to help people manage their health to devices that monitor whether a driver is paying attention to the road, the group develops tools that improve quality of life.
The group’s primary research areas include artificial intelligence; speech and natural language processing with a focus on health informatics; computational sensing for health technologies; simulation and conversational agents; and speech channels as input to computers. |
