Here are some initial thoughts on our paper on

  Tools for Preventive Software Maintenance:

preventive maintenance means:
  attempts to anticipate, simplify, prevent future maintenance.

Tools which anticipate, simplify:
  Law checker
  Parameterizer
  Growth plan generator
  Evolution tool
    some evolution steps can be done automatically

Tools which prevent (automate):
  Parameterizer


Task: We have to take a close look at the ECOOP review.

Possible approach to paper: 
  We deal with maintenance of object-oriented software only.
  We discuss the benefits of the Law to maintenance AND
    the benefits of the grammar-based approach in general.

We have too much material for this paper. We have to find a good focus
for our paper. What are your ideas?
