Good to hear from you. Please see: http://www.ccs.neu.edu/research/demeter/messages/ and http://www.ccs.neu.edu/research/demeter/sources/DemeterJava/available/status.txt for further information. Please keep us informed about your uses of Demeter. -- Karl From root@xsql.kybernet.com Sun Dec 1 19:26:31 1996 Received: from xsql.kybernet.com (root@jc-ts2-145.jvnc.net [204.143.75.145]) by amber.ccs.neu.edu (8.8.3/8.7.3) with SMTP id TAA02272 for ; Sun, 1 Dec 1996 19:26:28 -0500 (EST) Received: (from root@localhost) by xsql.kybernet.com (8.6.12/8.6.9) id TAA00435; Sun, 1 Dec 1996 19:28:52 -0500 Date: Sun, 1 Dec 1996 19:28:51 -0500 (EST) From: Juan Daugherty To: lieber@ccs.neu.edu Subject: Demeter Tools on Linux are aout only? Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Status: R Must apologize have gotten little work done on my "XSQL" project over last 4 months due to overcommitment on contract work. Now think I have this under control and am turning back to Demeter/XSQL development. May even have possiblity of using Demeter in some contract work for a large computer manufacturer. The main reason for this note is to find out the current platform status of the basic tools which I have found to work on Linux aout but not on ELF. I don't know for a fact that if I fully install package on ELF system that it wont work, but am hoping you can clarify somewhat the platform situation with respect to Demeter/C++. I am assuming that Linux aout is the only thing available for PC hardware and this will not deter me from using the methodology, but if Linux ELF, Windows 32, or OS/2 versions are available, I would greatly appreciate knowing this. I don't have resources to perform any ports in the near term and will work with the aout versions if necessary. Also, if Demeter/Java (the native implementation) will address the larger issue here (platforms) I'd very much appreciate knowing this. Thanks for your time. ===================================================== juan@acm.org
