Please can you send me a simple sample collection class produced by P3 so that I can get my team tuned into P3. -- Karl >From lieber Mon Jul 28 21:48:28 1997 To: dem Subject: EDCS report Cc: batory@cs.utexas.edu, dta@organon.com Report on DARPA EDCS demonstration/workshop July 97 Pictures make a big difference! This time many people were convinced that what we have is very useful. What I showed them is not very different in conceptual content from earlier de mos but the look and feel is very different. See www.ccs.neu.edu/home/research/demos/edcs97/script f or the demo script. I will need Kedar's help to turn this script into a set of HTML pages. What is new this time is to show the effect of a strategy visually and dynamical ly. AP Studio made an impact. What also helped is that a strategy is a general graph. A number of collaborations have developed. See: www.ccs.neu.edu/home/research/projects/darpa2/collaborations97.txt In addition, several said that they will look at what we have. Tim Sheard felt that it would be useful to add strategies to ML. Maybe someone in COM3360 would be interested in doing that. Our immediate collaboration is with Don Batory on Jakarta. P3 is the first tool produced by Jakarta and it is a collection class generator. We will use the tool in the following two ways: 1. Provide, say 10, default collection class implementations all generated by P3. 2. Allow users to generate the collection classes. Don is ready to start with 1. He will send us a sample collection class and he s aid that we just have to tell him how it should be changed, if necessary. -- Karl >From dsb@cs.utexas.edu Mon Aug 4 13:39:07 1997 >Received: from mail.cs.utexas.edu (root@mail.cs.utexas.edu [128.83.139.10]) > by amber.ccs.neu.edu (8.8.6/8.7.3) with ESMTP id NAA17960 > for ; Mon, 4 Aug 1997 13:39:04 -0400 (EDT) >Received: from t1000.cs.utexas.edu (dsb@t1000.cs.utexas.edu [128.83.120.82]) > by mail.cs.utexas.edu (8.8.5/8.8.5) with ESMTP id MAA07186 > for ; Mon, 4 Aug 1997 12:39:02 -0500 (CDT) >Received: by t1000.cs.utexas.edu (8.8.5/Client-1.5) > id MAA05684; Mon, 4 Aug 1997 12:39:00 -0500 (CDT) >Message-Id: <199708041739.MAA05684@t1000.cs.utexas.edu> >From: "Don Batory" >Date: Mon, 4 Aug 1997 12:39:00 -0500 >X-Mailer: Mail User's Shell (7.2.6 beta(3) 11/17/96) >To: Karl Lieberherr >Subject: Re: hi >Status: R > >K - You sent a note within the last week to me regarding >your using P3.
