Institute for Complex Scientific Software (ICSS)
Established in 2002, ICSS is an active collaboration of computer scientists and engineers, natural scientists, and electrical engineers. We are working to create reliable, efficient, extensible software and hardware tools for scientific computing. By applying our methods to fields as diverse as proteomics, medical imaging, and particle physics, we are also developing a generalizable process for designing and building complex scientific software. ICSS provides a vibrant research environment. ICSS includes members from Computer Science and from four other departments at Northeastern University. We invite participation from undergraduates, graduates, post-graduates and industry. See Gene Cooperman for further information.
Institute for Information Assurance (IIA)
The Institute for Information Assurance (IIA) is an interdisciplinary effort between the College of Computer and Information Science and the College of Engineering. The major goal of the Institute is to develop new cross-disciplinary methodologies to provide robust and reliable transmission of physically distributed information. We are working to provide information security within organizations and advisory services to maintain data integrity and infrastructure security. We also aim to produce professionals that are appropriately trained in current technologies to guard organizations against malicious attacks. The Institute invites participation from undergraduates, graduates, post-graduates and industry.
