Professor Parker holds a joint faculty appointment in the College of Computer and Information Science and Bouvé College of Health Sciences and is helping to shape the research agenda and curriculum for Northeastern’s cross-disciplinary PhD program in Personal Health Informatics.
She came to Northeastern after completing her PhD in Human-Centered Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology where she was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, a Microsoft Research Graduate Fellow, and a Google Anita Borg Scholar. Her primary research interests are in human-computer interaction (HCI), computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW), and health informatics. Her research focuses on health technology design and evaluation, specifically the design of information and communication technologies (ICTs) that address health disparities.
Professor Parker is also a graduate of the College of Computer and Information Science, where she earned a BS in Computer Science and national honors as the Computing Research Association’s Outstanding Female Undergraduate Researcher.
