Robert Platt

Assistant Professor

Professor Platt is interested in developing robots that can function alongside humans under uncertain conditions in everyday environments. He is particularly interested in planning, control, and perception algorithms that could enable a robot to assist people in manipulations or assembly work. His research has applications in health care and assisted living settings, personal robotics, manufacturing and package handling, and space exploration. Prior to joining the Northeastern faculty, Professor Platt was a research scientist at MIT and a technical lead at NASA Johnson Space Center.
