Northeastern University To Host Career Day For Information Assurance Professionals

What: Northeastern University’s College of Computer and Information Science will host a career day and expo event for information assurance (IA) professionals.

When: Thursday, June 15th from 4 to 8 p.m.

Where: West Village H, 440 Huntington Ave, first floor, rooms 108 and 110

Details: This event – held in conjunction with the CSO Executive Council – will feature leading chief security officers and IA educators, who will give helpful presentations for people seeking careers in information security, IT governance, disaster recovery, business contingency, privacy/compliance, and forensics/investigations.

The following information assurance experts will speak at this event:

• Bhavesh Patel, Director, Information Security, Genzyme Corporation
• Bob Hayes, Executive Director, CSO Executive Council and Chief Security Officer of CXO Media Inc. and International Data Group
• Kawika Daguio, Director, Information Assurance Program, Northeastern University

The event will also feature senior risk management and information security professionals from leading financial services and media companies. In attendance will be representatives from trade associations, graduate education programs, and certification programs, along with helpful information supplied by executive recruiters.

About Northeastern’s Information Assurance Program:

Northeastern offers graduate degrees and certificates in Information Assurance (IA), the protection of information and systems through such fields as information security, disaster recovery, and business contingency. Going beyond theory and technology, the IA program explores the relationship between information technology and people, systems, society, policy and law. The objective of this program is to teach mission-driven information assurance to aspiring and developing managers and senior consultants. The program draws on expertise from Northeastern’s College of Computer and Information Science and its College of Criminal Justice. Northeastern is designated by the National Security Agency (NSA) as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education.

About The CSO Executive Council:

The CSO Executive Council is a professional organization for security executives whose vision is to advance strategic security practices and solutions. The Council membership is by invitation only and currently represents 18 industry sectors.
