trantor is one of our brand-new Alphas. It's an Alpha 3000/600 with 64M RAM, one of two we have to provide various services (NFS et al) to the others (a mix of 3000/300's and 3000/300x's). trantor was much less occupied than garathorm when I ran the benchmark, but it's still only based on one trial, so those results don't give an accurate picture either.
alewife is a DECstation 5000/200 with 24M of RAM. It runs Ultrix 4.3, and was quiescent when I ran the benchmark suite.
The other machines' results displayed were all shipped with the lmbench package, and were presumably collected by Larry McVoy, the author of the benchmark suite.
