Here is another one of those "About Me" webpages that you hate to see.
Now that you are here , you might as well sit through it. Let me start by telling you a bit about my childhood and from
there we could move on to more serious issues like college work and so on.
My parents are doctors, working in Mumbai, so I ended up spending my childhood in Mahim, Mumbai. I did my schooling
from Modern English School, Mumbai. I am a big tennis fan and was seeded in the top 5 in the boys under 18 category under
Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA), but when I entered college I had to
decide between tennis or pursuing my other interest... yes you guessed it COMPUTERS!!!. I finally made up my mind
and put in the best of my efforts to secure a seat in the prestigiuos Thadomal Shahani Engineering College
(TSEC) for a B.E. degree in Computer Engineering.
I continued playing tennis for my college winnning 5 Gold medals and 1 Silver medal in variuos inter college tennis tournaments. Working on the
final year project with Amit, Shweta and Rahil was (all from TSEC) was lots of fun. Our final year project titled "Face Recognition
using Artificial Neural Networks" under Dr. H.B. Kekre, Head of the Computer Engineering Department, TSEC gave me the first taste of "real research work"
I graduated with a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Northeastern University and currently working
as a Software Engineer at EMC Corporation .
Living all by myself here, has been a different experience altogether. Here, I had to manage a lot of things which include studies, on-campus job and my TA job.
My TA job is to teach a group of 45 students, a course in Computer Science and applications (CSU101)
as well as grading their programming assignemnts. Teaching is fun and this job has made me realize that I am a good teacher :)
Boston has been kind to me and I hope it stays that way.
