Assumptions-
1. It is assumed that user has some basic knowledge of using a kiosk.
2. The kiosk has speakers, for when the woman speaks.
3. The kiosk also a printer attached for printing out directions.
Project Idea 1
A-Z Directory of Hospital
This touch screen kiosk will give information about location of nearest Cafeteria, Pharmacy and Washroom inside the hospital. These are the basic amenities that might be required to know while in the waiting room. This is the initial idea, which can be built upon with information on where-abouts of other locations of important hospital amenities like - X-Ray room, Nutrition Services etc.
Along with above functionality the kiosk will also have informative section about different kinds of better health practices of everyday life for older people.
What's interesting about this project is, designing a user interface that gives out a series of instructions to follow(e.g Directions to Cafeteria etc) in a way that is not complicated to understand and remember.
The following screens do not cover all the paths - Cafeteria, Pharmacy as well as Washrooms. It only covers the screens that show up when user clicks on the "Way to Cafeteria" button.
Project Idea 2
Closest ATM's, restaurants, Public transport, taxi service
This touch screen kiosk will be used by patients to find information about significant utility information around the hospitals like ATM's, Restaurants, Public Transport & Taxi Service. It is important to know sometimes to know these important locations when in a hospital.
As enhancements, it could also a yellow pages sort of functionality. It could have a search box, to put any word/keyword to search for.
Along with above functionality, the kiosk can also have a functionality to read latest news to pass time.
The following screens do not cover all the paths - ATM, Subway, Restaurant, Taxi Service. It only covers the screens that show up when user clicks on ATM/Subway buttons.
Project Idea 3
Schedule an appointment & Print medical reports
This touch screen kiosk will be used by patients to accomplish hospital trips management tasks like scheduling appointments with the doctor, scheduling appointments for conducting tests like X-Ray etc. It can also be used for printing their medical reports.
As an enhancement, creating and sharing one's experience of the hospital/doctor can be added, for other users to utilize as reviews from other users.
The following screen for now covers the basic task of scheduling appointment with any doctor.
