A Reason to Live
Amidst the thousand grains of sand,
Emerged from within your loving hand.
In them I saw a gentle ray of hope,
Which held onto me like a rope.
Slowly my fears were gone,
You had indeed made me stand alone.
This marked a new beginning in my heart,
I always knew with which I could never part.
Like a glow in the darkest night,
Slowly melted all the remnants of fright.
No more did I feel alone,
In my life happiness seemed again to be reborn.
Happiness that was so deep,
It touched my soul.
Had it not been for you,
I might have been long ago out cold.
Finally the sun shone into my life,
After what seemed like an eternal strife.
Its golden wings brushed past me,
And brought back happy visions I longed to see.
Merry were the songs that the birds sang,
In my ears their enchanting melodies rang.
In a short span of time you knew me so well,
That during parting tears and tears fell.
In your eyes the glowing tears,
For me marked a beginning to a new kind of fear.
The pain felt like a hot sting,
But your thoughts told me that I had to continue living.
With treasured thought, cherished memories engraved in my heart,
A song on your lips, we finally part.
