About VirtualDuctTape.org

Virtual Ductape is a small scale experiment in cross-platform compatibility and peer-to-peer networking. It includes a Mac Os X laptop, a Windows NT network (donated by the Microsoft Corporation), a linux web server, a Windows 2000 machine, a couple of miscellaneous antiques running as virtual machines, and a portable wireless network.

It's goal is to give Professor Perrolle and her students at Northeastern University some practical experience with social problems of computer and communications standards, software liscensing and other intellectual property issues, and the difficulties faced by people who cannot afford new technologies and high bandwidth connections.
