Abstract: The course is an introduction to the principles of computing and programming. It covers the principles of program design and the basic rules of program evaluation.

The course is suitable for both CS majors and non-majors. It does not assume any prior programming or computer science experience and is appropriate for freshmen. Still, even students with a significant conventional high school background in programming will learn a lot.

Prerequisites: The course assumes a basic familiarity with arithmetic and algebra. It also demands curiosity and self-driven exploration.
