Subject: Tools for the assignments

Here are some suggestions about getting suitable drawing tools for the homework
assignments:

There is a nice list of UML-compliant products at

The Rational Rose evaluation copy is rather large (over 200 MBytes) so for many
students it is not possible to use Rose.  Furthermore, the evaluation copy
expires after just 20 days.

Another possibility is MagicDraw.  It is much smaller than Rose: the download
is only 12 MBytes for Unix and 24 MBytes for Windows.

There are many other products on the page listed above.  Check them out, and
let me know if you find one that you like.
