Grading for the final project (homeworks 5 - 7)

First off, a couple of students approached me during the break and
mentioned that they thought that points being taken off for not
including a Class Form option was unfair. I have thought about it and I
agree. I will give all of you the 10 points back for the Class Form
option. In addition if you want to implement this part you will get 10
points of extra credit.

I also want to restate the grading policy for this assignment. All
three of these parts will be graded as if they were one big project.
The important due date is the final due date. What you hand in to me
as a solution to HW5 and HW6 I expect will be improved. In other words,
I am not giving partial credit at the moment specifically because,
anything you did not implement for HW5 you can finish later and you will
get full credit. The same will go for HW6. HW7 unfortunately will be
the finished project so there will not be an opportunity to redo parts
that were not implemented or that were implemented incorrectly. So
don't ignore what I did not give you credit for in HW5. continue to
work on it.

I would like to get your solutions again, as much as you have done for
HW6 and HW5 by Thanksgiving at the latest. There is no need to turn in
a hard copy for any of the assignments anymore. Simply place your code
in the drop box on the blackboard site and send me an email stating you
did so. I will try and grade HW6 and give you feed back as soon as
possible so you can make corrections in time for HW7 to be turned in.

Finally, my solution to HW5 is available in the solutions folder on the
course web site. It is there so you can use it as a guide to implement
some of the parts of HW5 that you were unable to implement.

IMPORTANT:
All the rules of the academic integrity agreement you signed apply here!
I will not give you credit for what you have not completed in HW5 if you
simply turn my solution in to me. If you do that, your grade will
remain as it was. You should feel free however to incorporate parts of
my solution into your own. You must clearly state where you are doing
so however! What I am expecting is that you use my code as a guide for
how to accomplish parts of HW5 that were not implemented. Feel free to
use cut and paste functions or even classes that accomplish portions of
what you want to do. But the design of the plugin must remain your own.
When you use something I wrote, state clearly that the following code
came from my solution.

If you have any questions please let me know. It took a while to get
the solution I posted to work correctly, and I know in my haste I
probably did not comment the code as clearly as I should have. There is
also a bit of tangling in the solution which would be nice to abstract
out into Aspects. If you are unclear as to how something works, please ask.

I'll post your grades to the blackboard site as soon as possible. For
those of you who did not get the feedback/grade sheets in class, I will
send them out through email sometime today.

One final note,
Hand in what ever you have for HW6 by Thanksgiving. Anything turned in
after that and I will not give you feedback before HW7 is due.

Paul
