Notice how all of the A's and Mariners games are either against each other or one of the Rangers and Angels. Tampa Bay is the second worst in the AL (to detroit) and the Anaheim Angels are a decent team, so hopefully we'll do well against the Devil Rays and the Angels will do well against the A's and Mariners (and having the A's sweep the Mariners in their head-to-head series couldn't hurt either). We will not win the AL East title this year, but we have a good chance of picking up the AL Wildcard.

9/19 Update: well, Oakland has pulled significantly ahead (having won eight of their past nine games); Seattle needs to win every game and rely on the A's losing every game in order to have a chance at the division title. The first of two three-game series between them and Seattle begins tonight. Go A's!
