John hard at work

I work for a company called Draper Laboratory in Cambridge, MA. I'm a "Senior Software Engineer", and I work on designing and implementing real time embedded systems. I've worked on everything from systems on the Space Station,to making a model railroad that was run by a process control language we developed in house.

Contrary to the humorous pic, the work there is really interesting. I work on a lot of different projects, and every few years here's another project that comes along, so I don't stagnate. The atmosphere is open and inviting with everyone a pleasure to work with. One friend who went to work for a startup said it best: "I miss draper - there everyone was smart and knew what they were doing". That's why I've been there 20+ years.
