Voting Rules for the VAST Programmers Challenge
		-----------------------------------------------

(1) Download the latest archive of entries from

	ftp.ccs.neu.edu/pub/people/jeffc/VASTPC/

*The files will usually be available in 3 forms:
VASTPC##.KRZ and VPASTC##.TXT (Raw Binary KRZ, ASCII TXT)
VASTPC##.SEA	MAC Stuffit archive (all files)
VASTPC##.ZIP	PC PKZIP archive (all files)

(2) Please read the included (from VASTPC##.TXT) VAST Programmers Challenge
Directive. It includes the goals and constraints of that months
contest. Also, while auditioning the programs, read the documentation
 	provided by the entrant.

(3) You should be listening/looking for:

	(a) if the entrant followed the rules of the contest. If the entrant
did not adhere to the rules, s/he should not win. Ultimately,
that decision is up to the voters, though.

	(b) creativity of the program structure.

	(c) creativity of control source use.

	(d) quality of the documentation (not necessarily the length, ask
yourself "Did the creator understand what they did (if not
		initially, in the end)").

Once you have narrowed the selections down, simply pick your 'favorite'
(yes, this part is totally subjective).

(4) Mail your vote to vpc@ccs.neu.edu; please include:

	(a) the name of the program/author you are voting for.

	(b) the month or VPC# that vote applies to (remember you are voting on
the previous months contest only, prior to the 15th of the
current month (example: to vote on Januarys contest you must
submit your vote by February 15th).

	(c) your real name.

If you vote more than once, for the same VPC, only your LATEST vote will
	be counted.

(5) For now, that's it! I Hope you enjoyed the programs, and that they will
inspire you to use the methods they contain to create your own unique
	programs. Please check http://www.ccs.neu.edu/home/jeffc/VASTanswers/
for the latest information or mail vast@ccs.neu.edu .
