Subject: Re: "hidden effects"

In order to edit or see the parameters of an effect object, the object has to exist in the K2000's ROM or RAM. Even though you can send a program change to call up another Digitech effect, the K2000 knows nothing about it because there is no effect object in ROM or RAM.

The Digitech came with its own set of 127 preset effects. The Digitech can only accomodate 127 program change numbers, but the K2000 has ten banks of 100 slots each. To allow you to be able to save effects in each bank, the numbers are spread over the 10 banks. The 0s bank has 37 and each of the following nine banks has 10 each, for a total of 127.

To be consistent with the rest of the objects in the machine, we only wanted to include presets in the 0s and 100s banks (Effects are added to the 800s and 900s bank when you add the respective soundblocks.) So in a basic machine we are limited to creating 47 ROM effects objects. We created our own effects objects instead of using the first 47 Digitech presets because, frankly, we liked ours better.

This is realy not a very big deal - there is nothing special about the Digitech presets. They are simply the ones that Digitech created. If you don't like ours, create your own. It's not hard to do. Editing the effects parameters is simple in comparison to the sophistication of VAST programming.
