Subject: 8/9 Bit SIMMs

The K2500 was designed to work with either 8 or 9 bit SIMMs. The K2000, on the other hand, was designed only for 8 bit SIMMs, and our engineers recommend using 8 bit SIMMs only. However, over the years I have talked to several users who have put 9 bit SIMMs in their unit and none of them reported any problems. But officially, we don't recommend using them in the K2000.
