I am Hooman Javaheri (in Persian: هومن جواهری), I was a Post-Doc researcher in the Networked Systems Lab and part-time faculty in College of Computer and Information Science at Northeastern University working with Prof. Guevara Noubir. I have received my Ph.D. in computer science from Northeastern University in December 2012. Before my studies at Northeastern I received my B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2006.

NEW! As of June 2014, I work as Data Infrastructure Engineer at RJMetrics, a fast growing big data startup in Philadelphia, PA.

Resume [pdf] updated 2016

In Spring 2014, I instructed CS1800 (Discrete Structures) and CS1100 (Computer Science and its Applications).

My research interests are:

  1. Wireless communications in extreme conditions

  2. Wireless energy transfer, RF Energy harvesting, Ultra-energy-efficient wireless systems

  3. Wireless interface for biological system, Nano-scale communication, Synthetic biology

  4. Cooperative wireless networks, Wireless sensor networks, Embedded systems

For more details on my research projects please visit here.

We have organized two NSF workshops in 2011 and 2012:

  1. NSF Workshop on Biologically-Enabled Wireless Networks Design and Modeling

  2. BioCom²: NSF Workshop on Biological Computations and Communications

Little things to make life easier.

  1. I developed NEU-lib redirector, a Google Chrome extension that provides access to online literature for off-campus users via Northeastern University library. It is much easier to use compared to the library interface. Install and enjoy! (Requires myNEU login.)

  2. Our college doesn’t require using a standard template for your thesis-related documents. Since I am completely obsessed with good typography, I made my own LateX template for my “Thesis Proposal”. If you like how it looks, download the template from here. It requires to install opensans package.
