This fall's course will build on last year's course and on
progress made since last year in the subject area of the course. 
The progress information comes
from the literature, and our own research program (funded by
NSF, DARPA and Xerox PARC). 

A new emphasis in the course will be on patterns and architectures
for object-oriented software development.

The new Demeter/Java system will be used which is a great tool 
to learn about many aspects of software development.
