J. Daniel Kulp

Welcome to the new and improved version 2.0 of my homepage.  Many things are improved in this version including, but not limited to:

About me:

In the past year, I've had several people contact me asking "are you the guy I knew a long time ago?"  This information is provided to answer that question.  If this doesn't sound like the J. Daniel Kulp you once knew, I'm probably not that person.

I grew up in eastern Pennsylvania.  My first 10 years or so were in Plumsteadville.  The next five in Holland.  I then moved to Deltona, Florida, where I ended up graduating from high school.   After high school, I attended Northeastern University in  Boston where I graduated in September '96 with BA's in Chemical Engineering and Computer Science.   Since then, I've remained in Boston.  (I like it here)

If you want to look at my resume, the best I can do is show you and old one from several years ago.  Updating it is on my "todo" list, but other things keep bumping it down the priority list.

What I do for a living:

As already mentioned, I have degrees in Chemical Engineering as well as Computer Science.  Right now, however, I only really "use" the Computer Science degree.  I really like programming computers so I might as well do that as a job.  I'm currently working for two companies: Athena Design and Sundial Systems.  Athena Design produces a JAVA spreadsheet object for use on application servers.  Very exciting stuff.  Sundial Systems produces a bunch of end user applications for OS/2.  I primarily work on Mesa 2, their spreadsheet offering.  I work on a few other things as well, but I'm not allowed to comment about unannounced products. ;)

Other projects of interest:

Along with my job related responsibilities, I do enjoy other fun projects.  Currently, these include:

Other hobbies and interests:

Programming is by far my most time consuming hobby.  I really enjoy doing it.  However, "one cannot live by programming alone" so I need to do other things.  One of my favorite past times is Magic, The Gathering.  It's a fun, challenging, and very thought provoking game.
