Skim the bibliography of HCI for older adults , and the research papers on interfaces for older adults, and think about project ideas that could be deployed on a touch screen kiosk in a geriatrics clinic waiting room. Pick three different project ideas that you would be interested in working on for a team project, make a rough sketch of a user interface (a scanned or photographed sketch on paper is best) and write a 1 paragraph proposal for each, further fleshing out the idea. Post your write-ups and sketches on a web page in your order of preference (these will be used to help form project teams).
The purpose of the application is to function like a jukebox except that it plays videos. The videos shows the "real world" problem faced by older adults with health issues in their daily lives. It can include interviews and tips sharing at the end of the videos. The videos are categorized by the health issues faced by the older adults and the user can choose whichever videos that they want to see. It is expected that the experience of watching the videos the user feels the connection - that they are not alone, with the people on the video, who might have the same health issues with him/her, and feeling motivated and more optimistic in facing their live.
The purpose of the software is to give recommendation on healthy food. As input: the user will be asked if she/he about any health issues that user might have. As output: the system will give recomendation of good diet corresponds to the input and several ways of cooking it.
the purpose of the software is to have a virtual blackboard that the user can draw pictures on and save it. The user can create a new picture or add drawings on other user existing picture. The main menu will show pictures drawn by other user that the user can click on and the new picture button. When the user click on that, a simple paint software will shows up. The user draw using their finger. After the user finish drawing, he/she can save and put initial on it. User can also report inapropriate pictures so the administrator can delete it.
