Indexing Format Specification

A single index file, named INDEX or INDEX.gz (compressed), shall be placed in
the root directory of the media.   This applies to media with a filesystem
or archived media.

INDEX shall contain SGML tags.

For audio CD's (CDDA), the contents of INDEX.gz (compressed)
shall be placed in the R-W subcode of the leadin.  The contents shall
be repeated until the leadin is full.  The R-W subcodes shall contain
ECC error correction.

A compressed INDEX shall be compressed with gnu gzip and be named
INDEX.GZ

References to files or data shall conform to the URL standard used
in HTML documents.

All sub directories shall be referenced relative to the root directory
(the directory where INDEX or INDEX.gz is placed).

Character sets shall be unicode or ASCII compliant.  When
a character set is other than ASCII, it shall be specified explicitly.
