How to use Zimbra Collaboration Suite for email at CCIS
Very recently created accounts at CCIS have their email handled by Zimbra Collaboration Suite (informally “Zimbra”, although that’s really the name of the company). In addition to email, this software handles calendaring and document sharing.Soon we will have a detailed HOWTO document here, but in the meantime, the short version is that you can go to
(note https) and log in with your CCIS login name and password, and you will get Zimbra’s quite good webmail client.
You can also read your mail through the Zimbra Collaboration Suite server with a standard mail client using the IMAP protocol, and send it with SMTP, but we don’t have detailed documentation written for that yet. (If you want to try this in the meantime, the server name is zimbra.ccs.neu.edu for both protocols.)
