Penalties
	Proctors are an important asset to the students, faculty, and the College of Computer Science.  Proctoring is fun, easy, and it's one of the few jobs where you get paid to do your homework.  If things do not run as planned then students cannot access the computers, faculty agendas and syllabi are delayed, and the Dean of CCS will not be happy. The following rules are set up to make the proctoring program run smoothly.  

Skipping shifts - Not showing up to a shift and not offering it through the web broker.
(Offering a shift less than an hour before it starts is the same as skipping it)

1st offense - Automatic loss of 5 shifts
2nd offense - Automatic loss of 10 shifts
3rd offense - Loss of all shifts and fired

Skipping shifts but they are offered through the broker
	I understand that things come up and there are plenty of circumstances that will excuse you from work.  Please keep in mind that you are responsible for your shifts until someone else takes them.  NO ONE will be penalized for missing an offered shift if they have an excuse. If you do not have an excuse than the following will apply.
	
1st offense - Automatic loss of 1 shift
	2nd offense - Automatic loss of 3 shifts
	3rd offense - Automatic loss of 5 shifts
	4th offense - Automatic loss of 10 shifts
	5th offense - Loss of all shifts and fired 

Tardiness
The proctoring system is designed to give every proctor 10 minutes to get to class after his/her shift.  Being late is almost the same as skipping the shift.  You've made the previous proctor choose between being late for class or closing down the lab and kicking out however many students are currently working.  If the proctor chooses to close down the lab, then the next proctor after that has to walk to Ruggles to get the keys and then drop them off after his/her shift.   If you are late for a shift and have an excuse, e-mail me by the end of the day.  If you are late and do not have an excuse, then the proctor you have inconvenienced will have his/her revenge.  He/She will have first grabs at the shifts you will lose by being late.  Penalties for unexcused tardiness are as follows:

1st offense - Automatic loss of 2 shifts.
2nd offense - Automatic loss of 5 shifts
3rd offense - Automatic loss of 10 shifts
4th offense - Loss of all shifts and fired.  



Recycling Bins, Food, & Drinks
This is for simple things such as not emptying the recycling bins and not taking care of food or drink.  These are little things that you may be fined for.  Each offense is an incremental 1-shift penalty.  1st offense is loss of one shift, 10th offense is loss of 10 shifts.

Security  
	Allowing anyone who is not a member of the systems staff to remove equipment from the labs will result in immediate termination.  Proctors must confront and confirm anyone taking items from the lab.  If someone is downright stealing from the lab and will not stop after you confront them, please DO NOT put yourself in harm's way.  That is why we have the police and systems staff.  Any emergencies can be reported in the systems office in room 59 or by calling NUPD at extension 2121.
