Questions
- 2.1 Opening the UNIX lab (102)
- The Proctor with the first shift of the day is responsible for
disengaging the alarm and unlocking the door. The alarm code will be
provided by the lab-admin and the door can be opened with your Husky
card after being programmed to do so in 310 WVH. When you approach the
door the alarm should have two solid green LEDs next to a red one. If
the red one is lit up, then the alarm is engaged. Please note that the
alarm must be disengaged before attempting to open the door. Else, the
alarm will sound and the NUPD will show up.
After disengaging the alarm, dip your Husky or key card into the lock
on the door. A red and green light will appear, prompting you to enter your
PIN. If the PIN is correct, a single green light will appear, at which point
you should dip the card a second time. The green light will now blink, which
means the door is now unlocked.
- 2.2 Closing the UNIX lab (102)
- Announce that the lab is closing 15 minutes before closing
time. At closing time, all the users must leave the lab. The proctor
must then lock and alarm the room. To do so, double dip your card in
the lock, which results in a solid red light. Then, re-enter the alarm
code on the alarm keypad.Make sure that all all three LEDs (Green, Green, Red) are lit.
- 2.3 Opening the PC labs (210 and 212)
- This is pretty much the same as opening 102. The only difference is the
alarm code, which can be obtained from the lab-admin at the proctor meeting.
- 2.4 Closing the PC labs (210 and 212)
- Announce that the lab is closing 15 minutes before closing time. At closing time,
tell all the students that they must leave the lab. Then lock and alarm the room as
described for 102.
- 2.5 NU Police unlock the building
- The NU police are responsible for locking and unlocking
West Village H. If you find the building locked during open lab hours,
call the police (x2121) and ask them to please unlock it. Send a
note to lab-admin noting their response.
As always, if you encounter any problems, let us know via email to
systems.
