Fall, 2008 - Prof Hafner
Assignments
Assignment 1. Due date: Sept 23 at
the beginning of class
In this assignment, you will begin applying the professional writing
concepts we talked about in class. Your
assignment is to write a 1-page summary (12 point single spaced,
about 450-500 words) of the article "Ubiquitous Access: on the Front
Lines of Patient Care and Safety" by Abraham et al., which appears in
your
course syllabus. Your intended audience is a fellow student who
is not taking this class, or a CS professor such as Prof.
Shivers. (We will discuss the attributes of these
individuals which may be relevant, and consider how those
attributes, combined with Grice's maxims, should influence your
summary).
Your paper should be appropriately
titled. A small amount of text on a second page is allowed.
