Problem Sets

home work!

All problem sets consist of two parts:
  • finger exercises

  • graded problems

Finger Exercises

Solving these finger exercises will prepare you for the homework problems. Solve as many as you can while you are reading the book. For some a paper-and-pencil solution is enough; for others, you really want to open DrRacket and experiment/play. Feel free to discuss the problems and the solutions with classmates.

All instructors, TAs, and tutors can help you with these finger exercises. If not, see the head of the course personally.

You will not get a grade for the finger exercises. But, when you ask for help with homework problems, we may ask you to solve one of these finger exercises or explain its solution.

Graded Problems

Graded problems count towards your final grade. You may only work on these with your homework partner. You may discuss high-level ideas with others; the clear boundary, however, is actual code: you may not show your code to others, or see code written by people who are not your current homework partner.
