Course requirements
All students are expected to attend all classes and to turn in assignments
on time.
Assignments are due at the start of class.
Students will not be admitted to class late.
The maximum points possible on a late assignment will be 1/2 of possible
total.
Textbook
There is no assigned text for this course.
Interesting books and stuff, all on reserve in Snell Library
History
Dennis Shasha and Cathy Lazere. Out of Their Minds: the lives and discoveries
of 15 great computer scientists. Copernicus, c1995.
A great title! Personal and intellectual snapshots of people with interesting
ideas and accomplishments.
Martin Campbell-Kelly and William Aspray. Computer: a history of
the information machine.
Stop listening to nth-hand hearsay: a serious effort to tell what actually
happened.
Grading

The maximum points possible on
a late assignment will be 1/2 of possible total. Late
assignments must be turned in by 5 p.m. the same day as class.

Assignments are due at the start of class.

Grading on the Final Resume will
be pass(10 points) or fail(0 points.

Co-op orientations
will not be graded, but stickers will be handed out at the end
to students who have attended the entire class.

Extra credit may be obtained by completing your
First Formal Interview before May 30.
Missing "sticker" orientation sessions means
you do not get attendance points for that day
AND you will need to make up the session
during a future semester.
You will not be allowed to go on co-op
until all orientations are completed.
If you fail COM1122, you must take CSU 223
in Fall of 2003 or you will not be
permitted to go on co-op.
