Introduction

The computer/information science field is a fast-paced and complex profession, not for the faint of heart. The Computer/Information Science Overview courses are designed to help students adjust to both this field, and the equally fast-paced academic life of Northeastern University and the College of Computer and Information Science (CCIS). In this course, freshmen and transfer students will be introduced to resources, faculty/staff, and important areas of the college and university. We will discuss global issues affecting the industry, as well as careers in the field, and begin the process of preparation for co-op (which will continue in CS U222, Overview 2).

This course is for 1 credit and runs once per week in the following sections:

  • Tuesdays, 11:45 - 1:20 p.m.
  • Tuesdays, 1:35 - 3:15 p.m.
  • Fridays, 11:45 - 1:20 p.m.
  • Fridays, 1:35 - 3:15 p.m.
