Prerequisites and Eligibility

To be eligible for co-op or internships, Master’s candidate students must:

  1. Be enrolled as a full-time student in a Master’s program for Computer Science, Information Assurance or Health Informatics.
  2. Have successfully completed the CCIS Co-op Graduate Seminar, CS6949, preferably in the fall semester of your first year.
  3. Computer Science (CS) students must have completed at least two semesters of coursework, including two core courses, earning 3.2 GPA at the start of their co-op search.
  4. Computer Science (CS) students must have received a grade of 3.0 or better in Program Design Paradigms (core) course.
  5. Information Assurance (IA) students must have completed at least two semesters of coursework, earning a 3.2 GPA at the start of their co-op search.
  6. International students  on an F1 visa must complete a full academic year before starting Co-op.
  7. Graduate students are not eligible for graduate assistantships while on Co-op.
  8. Must return to classes (on campus) in the semester following Co-op or Internship.
  9. PhD students are ineligible for Co-op.
