Orientation Schedule
IMPORTANT NOTE: Attendance at orientation ALL sessions and activities,
is REQUIRED of ALL Freshmen, Transfer, and Graduate students
prior to receiving a division assignment and/or approval to interview with
employers.
All orientation sessions and activities must be completed before receiving
company referrals and before accepting a Co-op assignment (own jobs included).

After completing Orientation #2, you may schedule an individual appointment.

Dress for a formal interview.
Men and women must wear business attire:
Men must wear jacket, tie, shined shoes;
Women must wear solid colors, hemline 3 inches below knee, 2 or
3 inch closed-toe shoes.

To schedule your formal interview with your Faculty Co-op Coordinator,
see your coordinators schedule located on the bulletin board outside 57
Cullinane. Sign up for 30 minutes (less
than 30 minutes, interview cannot be conducted).

Be prepared to discuss, past evaluations, short and long-term plans

Materials may be submitted 24 HOURS BEFORE INTERVIEW.

quarter you plan to start searching for an assignment.
If you do not attend this session, make an appointment as soon as possible

THINGS TO REMEMBER IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE
IN THE
Computer Science Co-op Program
REFERRAL AND SIGN-UP PROCESS
Once your resume has been approved then present to your CS Team Coordinator
the following:
A. 2 PAPER COPIES OF YOUR RESUME,
B. 1 DISKETTE COPY OF YOUR RESUME
(Macintosh compatible,
highly desirable a 6.0 version)
C. Relevant Questions: Create a MS Word text file
(6.0). This file is to be placed on your resume disk.
Answer the following questions:
(1). State
your objective(s) for this co-op search period.
(2). Identify
the area(s) and types of co-op assignment you are interested in having
your resume considered.
(3) List
your strengths that we tell to employers.
D. One UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT,
Pick up an unofficial transcript or
the
website version from the NU Self-Interactive System will be fine.
(copy must be sharp and dark enough
to send by faxing).
If you use are making a copy from an
official transcript, then do the following:
Open the envelop, make copies.
You keep the original, provide co-op with 1 copy.
E. PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP: Birth certificate with an official seal
or Passport (this verification process need only be done once)
F. Return JOB STATUS FORM (this applies only to upper-class students
returning from a previous co-op).
G. When the above is completed you should meet with your Coordinator
to be cleared to start
signing-up in the MACINTOSH Referral Database,
57 Cullinane (this is INTERVIEW II for first time referrals).
H. Keep a MASTER LIST of your sign-ups;
I. Regularly discuss your search process with a CS Team Coordinator.
