ORIENTATIONS
STEP 1: Attend Co-op Orientations 1 - 2
STEP 2: Schedule Formal Interview #1 with
Co-op Faculty Coordinator
Sign up for 30 minute interview.

Verify eligibility for Co-op

Review past evaluation

Discuss short and long-term plans

Bring cover letter, resume, co-op quiz, and unofficial transcript to Interview
#1. Materials maybe submitted 24 hrs. in advance.
STEP 3: Attend all other Co-op Orientations
INDIVIDUAL PREPARATION
STEP 4: Informal Meetings with Co-op Faculty Coordinator (as needed)
FINAL CLEARANCE
STEP 5: Attend group meeting for those seeking
new assignments
STEP 6: Final Clearance Meeting Co-op Faculty Coordinator

Submit finished copy of resume and disk copy

Review currently available Co-op positions

Determine qualifications for referral

Receive clearance to start co-op search
You must complete all of the above steps before you will be allowed to
receive any company referrals.
THE SEARCH
STEP 7: Search Database for Potential Assignments

Sign-up for assignments you are interested in

Keep Co-op Faculty Coordinator informed of your progress
STEP 8: Contact Prospective Employers

Call to schedule mutually convenient appointments

Bring resume, transcript and referral letter to interview
STEP 9: Notify Co-op Faculty Coordinator of Interview Results

If job offer is received, decide if you wish to accept it (You may wish
to consult with your Co-op Coordinator)

If employed, complete agreement form

If need additional interviews, repeat STEP 6
STEP 10: Finalize Employment

Confirm starting date with Co-op employer

Notify other employers that you are no longer available
STEP 11: Co-op Employment

Conduct yourself as a dependable employee and responsible representative
of Northeastern University

Complete evaluation form and job description form at the end of work period
-
Discuss evaluation form with Supervisor
STEP 12: Mail Evaluation Form back to Co-op Faculty Coordinator

Be sure to keep a copy of this form for your own purposes.

Leave the Co-op assignment on last day of work period.
REFLECTION
STEP 13: Returning from Co-op
When you return from your Co-op period, you need to:

Attend the "Returning Students" Co-op Meeting, normally held during the
first or second week of the new quarter.

Return status form.
